Kershaw heat-treats the 8Cr13MoV blade steel to bring out its high-performance characteristics like good edge retention, strength, hardness and wear resistance. The Blackwashed steel blade finish gives the surface a desirable roughened or scuffed look that helps hide scratches and fingerprints. A locking liner secures the blade during use and re-closes easily for pocket carry or storage.
